books£30 – Fields of Dreams – A journey of sporting passion

Growing up in the wilds of Northumberland and Scotland, Lord James Percy has enjoyed a privileged life dominated by sporting adventures. In this lavishly illustrated coffee table book, he shares his deep respect for the Great British countryside and his passion for conservation, wildlife, shooting and fishing in a series of beautifully written pieces.

£20 – The Sportsman

Philip Fussell is widely regarded as a legend of the shooting world, and in this book he tells his remarkable life story. With hundreds of memories of shooting, fishing and cricket, and anecdotes about many well-known names in the shooting world, it is a fascinating and entertaining insight into the life of one of our greatest sporting characters.

£80 – Live Pigeon Trap Shooting – A history

Live Pigeon Trap Shooting, by Texan author Cyril S. Adams, is the first book to be published on the subject since Captain Albert W. (Blue Rock) Money wrote Pigeon Shooting in 1896. It is brilliantly pieced together and lavishly illustrated, taking the reader around the world on an all-embracing sporting odyssey sure to appeal to any man or woman who ever raised a gun.

Challenge the Greats: T&Cs...

main challengesEach challenge consists of a tough 20-bird sequence.

At the end of each day of the fair, the person to have scored the highest score on the sequence will win the prizes listed below for the respective challenge.

In the event of a tie, a shoot-off will determine the overall winner. Personal details are required on entry, so that we may contact you to organise the shoot-off.

Pricing

Each challenge costs £20 to enter, which can be paid for at either Fieldsports stand or at E. J. Churchill's stand on the Shooting Line.

If you decide to take part in all three challenges, we will discount the rates to just £50. The discount will only be applied when all three challenges are being paid for on one transaction only.

Discount does not apply to three entries to one challenge.

Tickets & Scorecards

If you have paid to enter at either the Fieldsports Stand on Gunmakers' Row or E. J. Churchill you will be handed a ticket as proof of purchase. The tickets must then be taken to the Fieldsports stand on The Shooting Line and swapped for a scorecard before queuing to shoot.

If you pay to enter on the Shooting Line directly you will be given a scorecard only.

Scorecards MUST be filled in correctly before shooting.

The scorecard is then to be handed to the E. J. Churchill instructor present on each stand before shooting. Once you have set your score, all scorecards must remain with the instructor.

Guns & Cartridges

All cartridges and guns are provided on the stand by E. J. Churchill. If you would prefer to use your own, view The Game Fair's policy on guns and safe storage online before doing so.

Prizes

Once the winning scores have been confirmed, we will confirm address details and organise the delivery of prizes with the providers directly in the weeks following the fair.

No cash alternatives to prizes will be given.
